STRUGGLING WITH HIGH CAC? 
HERE’S HOW TO CUT IT IN 
What cannot be measured, cannot be improved. So first, let’s reverse-engineer what makes up the almighty CAC… the be-all-end-all metric of online marketing.

As you can see from the formula above, your CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost) is determined by the performance of (3) key metrics, which are:
CPM 📈 (Cost per 1,000 impressions) CPMs depend on market conditions such as competition, supply, demand. You can’t control CPMs.
Link CTR 👉 (Click-through rate) The amount of people that click your ad and end up on your site. 1% is the sweet spot - which might sound daunting but it’s a piece of cake if you follow my methodology.
Conversion Rate 🎯 The amount of people who end up buying once they land on your website. Unlike the other two metrics your Conversion Rate CAN be controlled by you and does not depend on market conditions. It can be improved infinitely.
Now… let’s plug in the “just ok” values for these (3) key metrics into the CAC formula…
If you’re doing an OK job with your landing pages, your conversion should be about 3%
If you’re doing a half-decent job at advertising, your Avg. Link CTR will be about 1%
Let’s assume your CPM is $30 — not uncommon for most industries


The end result is an ultra-high CAC of $100... Which is simply a number that will sink most businesses not loaded with cash into the ground!
Even if you have buckets of money in the bank for customer acquisition and can afford this super high CAC…
Wouldn’t you want to get 2 customers for the price of 1?
SO… what options do we have given that…
CPMs will not go down
Due to increased competition, it's extremely hard to get more than 2% Link CTR – There are just TOO MANY brands fighting for your ideal customer's attention online
Retargeting is less efficient given tracking and privacy limitations
Cold prospecting is also less efficient because FB cannot spy what we do outside of its platform without consent anymore
Given the above...
The only viable, secure option to decrease your CAC is to… Work on your CONVERSION RATE!
Why? Because the efficiency of online ad platforms will not increase – if by anything... it will keep going DOWN!
Take a look at the formula again... Conversion Rate is, in effect, the only variable that is directly proportional to CAC that you CAN improve.

If you double your conversion rate (which is what I will teach you), your CAC will be cut by half. See the formula again when we change the CVR from 3% to 6%....


Your CAC result is now half of what it used to be. So… now you know that relying on market conditions and ad platform efficiency to decrease your consumer acquisition cost is never going to work...and that… Working on a conversion rate optimization strategy is something that can halve your CAC, double the efficiency of your website, while depending completely on you (not the ad platform), and has virtually no limit.
But wait…
Now that you know that you must absolutely work on your conversion rate for your
ecommerce business to survive…
Let me show HOW NOT to work on your conversion rate.
This is the WRONG way of doing it…
Let’s take a look at a sample report from a “vanilla” conversion rate
service that will NEVER make your business profitable.
Hell… these guys are so clueless… I don’t even think they’ve ever
seen an online store conversion rate in the double digits.
They say...
The pop-up floating panel is a great addition, but it
takes up too much space for the value it brings.

Cool – not bad, but not nowhere near enough for a substantial 2X increase in sales. Will improve CVR by a few 0.01% points.
They say...
It’s great to surface additional products on your PDP, but only if
you are going to make shopping easy.

Again – try doubling your sales with this one. Not gonna happen.
They will also SUGGEST that you do the following…
You should change your CTA text from “Buy Now” to “Shop Now”
You should change your background color and button color to make it pop
Do more and more stupid tests (while you keep paying them of ebook)!!!
The problem with these “suggestions” is that they will improve your conversion rate by a few 0.01% points at most.
You will keep bleeding cash on ads, not hitting your target metrics and this will most likely result in the death of your busines.
Don’t get me wrong. You should always take the incremental 0.01% increases in conversion rate, because they compound… But...

If you need a radical,
exponential increase in sales…
YOU MUST FOCUS ON THE BIG PICTURE… not button colors and stupid layout improvements!

1. Focus on what your CUSTOMERS really WANT!
Most online businesses that are failing have one thing in common. They are pushing the wrong product to the wrong audience. They are stuck on their PowerPoint idea of who their customer should be. By finding out who your customers are, and understanding them, you can improve the:
- Messaging
- Copy
- You’ll know which product USPs to call out
- And even the UX/UI/Layout improvements that your audience NEEDS in order to convert!
2. Your MESSAGING, POSITIONING and COPY
Once you know your customers, and understand
- What they want
- The problems they need solved
- Their deep, most hidden ardent desires,
